Rye Grass

Rye grass has as far as we are concerned here, two basic catagories.

Annual ryegrass and perrenial rye grass.

Annual plants and grasses must be replaced every year. They are one year plants that

die at the end of the season. Some as a result of seeding, which is often triggered by

shortened daylight. The plant dies forever, but do not underestimate the devestation

the seeds are capable of if weed seeds.

Grass germinates, starts growing at a cooler temperature, earlier in the season

than weeds. Get your grass nice and thick now to end the weed regeneration.

Perrenial plants and grasses should live very long lives.

Annual rye germinates in 3-4 days

Perrenial rye grass takes 7-10 days to sprout.

There are many perrenial rye grasses that resist various diseases and lawn insects.
