Fescue Grass

There are many different types of fescue. Red fescue, chewings fescue, creeping fescue,

turf type tall fescue. Fescues take about 10 to 14 days to sprout.

Several strains of fescue are capable of very deep root systems. The deeper the root, the more

     drought tolerant.

Many fescues can take a good amount of wear, traffic. They do not have the fine blades like a

blue grass, but its positive qualities make it a better grass to grow in many areas of the

country. Some fescues are a very drought tolerant grass.

Some fescues have finer blades, but lack the drought tolerance and traffic tolerance. I will be

expanding on this grass page shortly.
